Jeffrey A. Leerink is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Leerink Partners, the largest investment bank dedicated exclusively to healthcare. Since its founding three decades ago, the Firm has grown into a market-leading franchise recognized for its strength in equity research, equity capital markets, and M&A advisory. Under Mr. Leerink’s leadership, Leerink Partners has earned a reputation as a trusted partner to healthcare companies and investors, helping them achieve their most important strategic and financial objectives.
Mr. Leerink co-founded MEDACorp in 1996, a provider of insights on the commercial potential of biotherapeutics and medical devices for healthcare companies and investors. Today, MEDACorp remains an integral source of industry and market intelligence for Leerink Partners and its clients. In 2008, he co-founded Humedica, Inc., a clinical intelligence company that was acquired by Optum, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, in 2013. He later founded Leerink Capital Partners, a healthcare-focused, multi-strategy asset management firm that launched Leerink Transformation Partners and Leerink Revelation Partners.
In 2019, Mr. Leerink led the sale of Leerink Partners to Silicon Valley Bank, serving as CEO of SVB Securities until 2023, when he led a management buyout to restore the Firm’s independence.
Mr. Leerink is committed to advancing healthcare and education through both his professional and philanthropic endeavors. His commitment to the healthcare industry extends to numerous advisory roles and board memberships of healthcare companies. Mr. Leerink is the Vice Chairman of the Harvard Medical School Board of Fellows, serves on the President’s Board at Mass General Brigham, and is a past Chairman of the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts.
